Heriot Manor

Guest House

We got our stars! 4 of them!

It’s not quite the Milky Way, but you might have noticed the four pretty stars in our header image at the top of every page of our website, yes? Pretty awesome, don’t you think?

Those colourful stars indicate that Heriot Manor Guest House was assessed by an independent accredited Grading Assessor, against the standards set by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA). And in the assessor’s experienced opinion, Heriot Manor’s service and facilities are of a high standard – fit for a four star grading! Not bad, considering the highest grading is five stars, eh?

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa developed the National Star Grading Scheme based on the internationally recognized star grading scheme. Their market research and consultation with the tourism industry indicated that consumers consider stars as symbols of quality around which they can make value for money judgments when choosing accommodation. Tourists reportedly trust an establishment’s star grading as an impartial and independent assessment of the quality of the establishment’s facilities and service.

And this is why I wanted stars for Heriot Manor as well. I mean, what’s not to like about giving potential guests an easy measure to make the decision to come and stay or not?

It’s been quite a process to get those stars. It involved extensive upgrading of the guest house, which was a rather exhausting feat. But now, instead of feeling like a work horse, I can smile contentedly and bask in the magical glow of Heriot Manor Guest House’s four star rating.
